Adidas is teaming up with Ready Player Me to create AI-generated avatars based the Ozworld shoe collection from its 'Originals' arm. The collaboration will allow fans of the iconic sneaker to flaunt its 90’s-come-futuristic streetwear style across an array of 1,500 metaverse worlds and apps.

To curate custom virtual avatars that are unique to each user, Ready Player Me’s AI engine will ask users to answer a series of questions surrounding their preferences, including which Ozworld footwear silhouette is their favourite. When this information has been inputted, a unique avatar that takes inspiration from the collection’s dynamic visual codes will be rendered.

In addition to its vast interoperability, users will also be able to download their Ozworld avatar to use as stickers and GIFs across social media platforms.

Members of the adiClub, as well as those in ownership of an Adidas NFT, will gain early access to this content on April 8th, with the first public instalment of the Ozwold avatars coming on April 28th.

By launching this initiative, Adidas is diversifying its portfolio of Web3 works in a direction it hasn't been before, as its previous collaborative endeavours (with the likes of The Sandbox, Coinbase, Bored Ape Yacht Club, PUNKS Comic, Gmoney and Prada) have mainly been centred around NFTs.
