MoonPay, a crypto payment service best know for letting users purchase cryptocurrencies and NFTs using fiat, just announced that of the $555 million it raised via an investment round back in November, $87 million came from investments from household-name celebrity investors.

The list of 60+ public figure investors included the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow, Maria Sharapova, Eva Longoria, Gal Gadot, Matthew McConaughey and Bruce Willis.

The successful funding round in question, which took the company’s valuation to $3.4 billion, took place in November 2021. Various other (less A-list) names such as Tiger Global Management, Coatue, and Blossom Capital made up the bulk of investment volume.

The company shared that through such funding, as well as the continued support from its investors, it will continue its mission of increasing access to cryptocurrencies to 1 billion people by 2030 by growing its team and bringing in new partners. It will also be able to develop new products like NFT Checkout and MoonPay Concierge (a referral service for VIPs who wish to purchase crypto and NFTs), which Gwyneth Paltrow actually used when purchasing a Bored Ape.
